Saturday 13/05/2017 - Johannesburgh

Excellent nights sleep at our Air BnB.

Checked out and walked to our meeting hotel for the trip. Spent the day in and around Rosebank Mall, taking it easy acclimatising to the new time zone.
Met everyone at 6pm, we have have a small group of 8 plus our leader and driver.
Had lovely dinner at the hotel and went straight to bed as we are leaving 4.50am the next day to Kruger.

Friday 12/05/2017 - Sydney to Johannesburgh

Having breakfast and relaxing in Amex lounge before boarding our flight.

Plane running 30 minutes late so we decided to go back to the lounge for a drink.

Got to make the most of it.

We finally boarded at 11:30 and had a great flight. The cabin crew were all lovely and very happy and helpful.

We had no problems getting out bags and purchasing our Gautrain tickets to Rosebank. It was 9 degrees Celsius and raining lightly as we headed to Oak house airBnB. On the way it started to storm and we made it to the accomodation just before the rain started to bucket down. We decided not to go back out for dinner and as we have been awake for nearly 24 hours we decided to stay in have a cup of tea and an early night.

Wednesday 10/05/2017 - Still home

This trip we are back to touring rather than cycling. We are doing 3 tours with Intrepid and as we have previously done 9 trips with them we are classified as Intrepid legends. This entitled us to $2200 each off our 10th trip which is a fantastic loyalty bonus.

Our first tour is Kruger, Coast and Cape, a 22 day tour from Johannesburg to Cape Town and has a maximum of 16 passengers and I'm not sure how many people are currently on the tour.

 
Next tour is Cape town to Vic Falls, another 22 day tour with a maximum of 22 passengers. This trip still has space available.
 
Our last trip is a short 9 day trip Vic Falls to Kruger and has a maximum of 22 passengers and is fully booked.
 
Only 2 more sleeps till we head off to start this new adventure with the first tour starting on the 13th of May.
